What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We use them — and similar technologies such as localStorage — solely to make the website work and, with your consent, to measure usage anonymously.

Which cookies do we use?

Our own consent storage (always active)

To remember the choice you make in the cookie banner, we store two values locally in your browser using localStorage. This storage is ours alone: it involves no cookies, and it sends nothing to a third party.

• secrotec-consent — contains the value granted or denied and records your choice regarding analytics services.
• secrotec-consent-mkt — contains the value granted or denied and records your choice regarding marketing services.

Neither value carries an expiry date, so both stay in your browser until you clear its storage yourself. This storage is always active; we do not ask you for consent for it.

Google Analytics 4 (only with your consent)

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Ltd., to measure how visitors use the site. We load it through Google Tag Manager, and only after you have accepted: in our measurement, no Google Analytics request was made and no cookie was placed before consent was given. Once measurement is active, two cookies are set:

• _ga — on the domain .secrotec.nl, with a measured lifetime of approximately 400 days.
• _ga_YBBDMWZWJP — on the domain .secrotec.nl, with a measured lifetime of approximately 400 days.

Your IP address is anonymised. Processing may take place outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards (EU Standard Contractual Clauses / Data Privacy Framework).

The Conviro chat function (only with your consent)

Our chat function is provided by Conviro, a service of Wizutech OU, Tornimae tn 5, 10145 Tallinn, Estonia. According to the supplier's own privacy statement, its primary servers are located in the European Union (Germany), in ISO 27001-certified data centres. The chat is not loaded until you have given your consent: before consent we measured no cookies, no browser storage and no requests at all.

Once it has loaded, the chat places two cookies on the domain www.secrotec.nl, both marked Secure, and stores a number of values in your browser:

• Cookie cw_vid_pk_<key> — measured lifetime approximately 365 days.
• Cookie cw_sid_pk_<key> — measured lifetime approximately 365 days.
• localStorage entries cw_vid_pk_<key> and cw_sid_pk_<key> — their value contains an explicit expiry field, which we measured at approximately 365 days.
• localStorage entry cw:pk_<key>:last_read_message — has no expiry date and stays until you clear your browser storage.
• sessionStorage entry cw:pk_<key>:tab — disappears as soon as you close the tab.

While the chat is active, your browser sends requests to cdn.conviro.io and api.conviro.io, for loading the widget and for a page view, a heartbeat, conversations and session polling. A visitor identifier is sent along with those requests. We measured what two of these identifiers do: the value from cw_vid is sent to Conviro as the visitorId and lets the chat recognise you as a returning visitor, while the value from cw_sid appears in the address of the session that is requested and identifies the chat session itself.

What last_read_message and tab are used for is unknown to us. The supplier does not document these entries, and we could not derive their purpose from the behaviour we observed. We would rather tell you that plainly than guess.

Trustpilot (only with your consent)

With your consent we load a script from Trustpilot A/S, Pilestraede 58, 5th floor, DK-1112 Copenhagen K, Denmark. The script is not requested before you have given your consent. In a technical test on 7 September 2026 we established the following behaviour on this website:

• Per page view your browser makes one GET request to https://invitejs.trustpilot.com/tp.min.js, answered with HTTP 200.
• The response contains no Set-Cookie header: we found no cookies, no localStorage and no sessionStorage from Trustpilot.
• There is no POST request and no beacon, and the request itself contains no personal data.
• Because your browser has to fetch the file, Trustpilot does receive the technically necessary network data that comes with such a request: your IP address and the referring page (Referer).

These findings describe what we measured on 7 September 2026. We repeat this check periodically, and we make no claims here about how the service may behave at some later date.

No measurement without consent

By default analytics is off. We use Google Consent Mode v2: before your consent, no analytics cookies are placed and no personal data is sent to Google. Measurement only starts after your explicit "Accept".

What data, and who processes it?

For analytics, Google Ireland Ltd. processes pseudonymised usage data on our behalf. The IP address is anonymised. Data may be processed on servers outside the EEA (including the United States) under appropriate safeguards (EU Standard Contractual Clauses / Data Privacy Framework).

Withdraw or change your consent

• Clear the site data/cookies in your browser (or delete the key secrotec-consent) and reload the page — the cookie banner will appear again.
• You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Retention period

Analytics data in Google Analytics 4 is kept according to the configured retention period (default up to 14 months). Your locally stored preference remains until you clear it.
